This balm contains unique blend of Boswellia Serrata Extract 70% enriched with AKBA.

Inflammations are characterized by 5 symptoms: redness, heat, pain, swelling and decreased function. These symptoms are caused by a variety of inflammatory radiators Prostaglandins, Leukotrienes etc.

Several prostaglandins are responsible for the induction of inflammatory process. Interestingly Leukotriene B4 (LTB4) in particular is responsible for the maintenance of the inflammation and therefore the chronic progress of the diseases like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteo Arthritis etc

The key enzyme in the conversion of Arachidonic Acid into LTB4 is 5-Lipoxygenase (5-lox). Inhibition of 5-lox thus assumes special significance when it comes to the management of chronic inflammatory disorders.

The Indian Frankincense extract (Boswellia Serrata) contains different Boswellic acids like 3-Acetyl-b-Boswellic acids (ABA) 0.05 to 6%, 11-Keto-b-Boswellic acids (KBA) 2.5% to 7.5% and 3-Acetyl-11-Keto -b-Boswellic acids (AKBA) 0.1 to 3%.

Boswellic acids maintain healthy 5-lipoxygenase (5-Lox) activity, moderating Leukotriene biosynthesis. Data suggests that among the various Boswellic acids, AKBA is considered the most powerful. AKBA also helps preserve the structural integrity of joint cartilages.
